Carrie W. Gasaway

Mrs. Gasaway received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Alabama in 1993, cum laude, and her Juris Doctor degree from The University of Alabama School of Law in 1997.

As a member of The University of Alabama School of Law's National Trial Team, she competed in both regional and national mock trial competitions. In 1996, upon the recommendation of the trial team coaches and with the confirmation of the entire faculty, she received the only scholarship for outstanding performance in trial advocacy, which included a one-year full tuition scholarship. Later in 1996, Mrs. Gasaway, along with her teammates, competed in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyer's Trial Competition. During this competition, she received the Best Advocate Award for having the highest score out of forty-eight candidates during the third round of competition. In the spring of 1997, she and her trial team partner, were named the Southeastern Regional Champions for the American Bar Association's National Trial Competition. As a result, Mrs. Gasaway and her partner advanced to the National Championship, where they advanced through the third round.

Mrs. Gasaway began practicing law in Clarksville in October of 1997. She is admitted to practice in all Tennessee trial and appellate courts and federal court. Her practice has focused on criminal defense and family law in both the trial and Tennessee appellate courts. As a criminal defense trial lawyer, she has tried numerous cases ranging from first-degree murder to misdemeanors. She is also qualified under the Tennessee Supreme Court Rules to represent defendants in death penalty cases. As a family law litigator, she has represented clients in hundreds of proceedings involving all aspects of family law. She has also handled numerous civil matters, including personal injury and estate litigation.
